Before anyone lands a job they have to pass through the gauntlet of the first interview. You will only get one chance to show the hiring manager you’re the most qualified applicant for the position. For our example we’re going to say we’ve been looking for a dental assistant job in Atlanta GA and have finally landed the coveted interview.

You should prepare like a Hollywood star to land your dream job! Performance artists get nervous but how they manage that pressure and prepare for it that provides them with the confidence needed to ace their performance!

You’ll need to start by doing research on your part. Talk to others who’ve landed dental assistant jobs. Ask them how their interviews went and which skills are most used on the job. Perhaps everything you learned in school isn’t what is most used, but you’d never know without doing your research!  

Don’t just limit your research to people; use every resource available to you. Browse the Internet for websites related to your career choice. Pick up some industry magazines or newsletters.  Also once you land the interview make sure to research the company you will be interviewing with! It will provide you with background and something to talk about during the interview, as the interviewer almost surely will tell you something about the company.
